As a 4th year Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from Sydney
University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) it was the first time I had
ever attended an acupuncture community service event. I was kindly
invited to attend this event to assist the Oriental Medical doctors
(OMD) on the day. My experience was truly eye opening and rewarding,
the event was all about helping people who may not have access to
treatments in the country. The atmosphere created by the staff and
doctors was warm, friendly and welcoming to say the least. At the end
of the day I felt proud to be beginning my journey in this profession
as there have been great developments in the past few decades in
pharmacopuncture. Through my experience I felt that Korean
Pharmacopuncture Institute (KPI) is a great representative of the
future of Oriental Medicine in acupuncture and I hope that KPI
continues their community service program to help the sick and to
teach new and upcoming OMDs."
